Contemporary Cityscapes.

Dark and moody cityscapes have been my focus for awhile and I enjoy painting them. I especially like the contrast between the dark and light areas and the drama that it creates. These are statement pieces and work well in contemporary settings.

'Lonely Street' 36x48 from Canvas Gallery works well here in the basement renovation on HGTV's Income Property. With the contemporary furnishings and the neutral color scheme. You can view the full episode here.

King West  36x48  Acrylic on Canvas

'King West' was painted as a wedding gift and I had it framed in a black floating frame before gifting it to the happy couple. You may remember it from this post about staging your home with art. It since has moved to another condo in the sky. I like painting these cityscapes in vertical format because they work well in the newer condos which are mostly glass and where space is limited to high vertical walls and posts.
